An ill and/or mineral deficient person usually has their pH mildly to strongly
acidic between 6.0 to 4.5, where 4.5 may indicate very serious problem.
When taking a saliva pH test with litmus paper it is best to do it first thing
in the morning, or during the day after two hours with no foods or drikns.
To measure saliva, first swallow, then draw up new saliva. Spit into a spoon, insert the paper in the saliva,
read immediately. Compare to the colour chart immediately. The pH of a healthy person’s
saliva is in the range between 7.0 to 7.5
Note: The pHydrion test paper was designed for immediate reading. If you wait 30
seconds, the value will change due to evaporation.
